It started in late 2007 as a community of like-minded, emerging and contemporary artists led by Philip Letts, Innovation Artist and abstract photographer, as a way to free themselves from the confines of the legacy art marketplace, where all too often galleries and auction houses act as choke points rather than facilitators. Initially b-uncut provided artists with a virtual studio, online community and social media platform.
The b-uncut movement has become so successful that it recently launched b-uncut.com as a digital marketplace and destination for emerging art buyers worldwide, offering online art sales, art merchandise and book stores. Soon, it will also offer art tours alongside virtual artist studio visits and sales.
b-uncut has one dream; 'to set artists free'. Set them free from the antiquated and inefficient art market. Set them free from abusive 'dealer' practices and free them to sell their art in a more open, international and profitable manner. A place where tomorrow's artists can congregate to collaboratively develop their art, careers and their name surrounded by high quality peers and supporters.
b-uncut's community of artists and free spirit caught on fast and today over 1500 artists from all over the world are part of the movement. At least one new artist joins b-uncut each and every day.
