Claudie Bastide

Claudie Bastide worked mainly as a fashion designer for more than twenty years. In 1996 she shifted to the arts as a sculptor and painter and recently a digital photographer. As a sculptor she expresses herself with a great freedom of speech through chairs. Her "chair-language" is unique in the art world. Her mostly oil paintings get you into her surrealistic subconscious where geometric shapes and colours become poetry. In her digitally enhanced photos,she often asks the question of the place of human beings in urban geometry. She has exhibited her works in Paris, Brussels, Geneva, Berlin, Barcelona, and has received several French awards for her work.
