David Jones

David Jones was born in 1948, in Palo Alto, California. All his life David has had equal passions for jazz and abstract art. As an artist David has been greatly influenced by Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Cy Twombly and Richard Gayton, (his drawing teacher). He's sold approximately 600 paintings and drawings, and has taught Art for young and old. David has won many awards for his paintings and drawings, and his work is in both private and corporate collections around the world. Over the past 25 years David has shown his work in approximately 45 solo and group shows. He's also been on the Mississippi Arts Commission Artist Roster of approved artists for grant-seeking institutions.
